One thing I don& #39;t miss about being in my early twenties is the arrogance I had about ideas, people & my place in the world. I& #39;m comforted to know that there were black woman who wrote & theorized the very "new" & "revolutionary" fresh takes that I believe made me edgy.
Bc learning & unlearning happens in waves, many young people act as if we& #39;re learning about the world at the same pace as them. Baby, we been here. Having the prickly conversations with our peers. The people you& #39;re "debating" are the one& #39;s who& #39;ve calcified & refused to grow.
People come on here dicks swinging about their "new" ideas that absolutely must not be copied. First of all, cite your sources. Secondly, you& #39;re the sweetest to think your rants about how things have to change are original. Generations of people, work & ideas come before you.
"No one is talking about this topic except me" - a 20 year old talking about socialism/ xenophobia/ feminist principles/ invisible labour/ workplace discrimination/ art/ queerness/ intersectionality/ shortcomings of the State/ Blackness etc.
