So I& #39;ve been playing minecraft again for a few days. I bought the game in the first months after it became available for sale and it was almost the only game I played in 2010 and 2011. I quit in 2012, picked it up briefly again ~2014 or so. Loads of multiplayer with friends.
Here& #39;s some observations coming back to the game after a long time:
- DAMN, the game is even better than when I quit playing! So many more systems and content! Thankfully, the new stuff is mostly not focused on automation or redstone, which is mostly uninteresting to me
- The villager stuff is a lot more fleshed out and is very exciting!
- There are raids and shit now!
- Shit in the ocean now! Thank god!!
- Banners! This is very important!! They can be curtains!!!
- The nether is still pretty much the same. Disappointed by that
- With the new content, it& #39;s much harder to find specific things I want to show the friends I& #39;m playing with. They are picking the game up for the first time. Haven& #39;t been able to find the biomes I want to show them. With more infrastructural things to do, it& #39;s eating up our time
- There are like 4 different main types of rock now and a billion types of tree. There& #39;s a lot more stuff to keep track of and it results in pretty severe inventory bloat. Keeping my inventory clear is much harder when I have bits and bobs of three different types of wood
- The nether is the same and it still sucks ass. There& #39;s nothing there!! At least I don& #39;t have to go there often
- They changed the way the boats animate and it makes me dizzy and sick!!
- The economy system doesn& #39;t work perfectly. Villagers only refresh trades when they work, but I had a village with kids who all suddenly grew up and took other people& #39;s jobs. Now their parents don& #39;t work
Thank god. I was gonna finish this thread with a gag third callout that the nether is still the same and still sucks https://twitter.com/balmut_/status/1249496941555261442?s=20">https://twitter.com/balmut_/s...
