This can be a really good time to cultivate in a culture of minimalist lifestyle. Let& #39;s teach our children by practicing ourself, and relearn to re use, reduce and recycle. If something gets broken, let& #39;s fix it. Repairing and reusing should be praised more, not stigmatised.
I& #39;ve been thinking about this for a while now. Everything that& #39;s happened with the pandemic made me realise how much we waste. Maybe it& #39;s because I lived in a place of abject poverty I learned to appreciate it. We used to fix our shoes, umbrellas and backpacks where I lived,
I learnt that if something gets broken you fix it. Not throw it away and buy a new one. We& #39;ve gotten so used to having everything so easily available, we don& #39;t think for a second before throwing something away for a minor flaw. Stop buying into the capitalist propaganda.
We don& #39;t need new everything. We need to demand better quality than, getting excited over new things every year. It& #39;d be really nice to see children learn this. It& #39;s just something that& #39;s been on my mind awhile.
