this is a tip for all black kids:
don’t let your friends make that joke. you know exactly what i’m talking about. you’re not being sensitive, and it’s not harmless. they need to respect you.
the “n word pass” doesn’t exist. don’t let them make jokes about your skin, or your family. that shit slowly eats away at you.
it fucks with your self esteem, your personal image. you shouldn’t be reduced to a cheap and unfunny gag.
they will never understand what it’s like to be made to feel less than bc you have dark skin... also... you should have more black friends...
also to my old friends that feel some type of way about this: cry me a river
AHT AHT you didn’t feel bad when we were at the function and you let all your friends be racist to me... what changed??? i have followers now?
i have no problem teaching my friends that what they’re doing is ignorant and harmful, but when they DONT STOP?! when they DONT HELP YOU? that’s when we have a problem.
these comments... everyone needs a hug and a lot of healing... don’t feel bad if you didn’t call it out before. its hard to stick up from yourself if you’re young and/or scared of being invalidated or dismissed. just be glad you know now!
also!! if you’re nonblack, please stick up for your friends! especially if you can TELL they’re uncomfortable. call people out, it makes a huge difference sometimes.
