big "neurotypical adult telling an autistic child to use their indoor voice" energy comin& #39; offa this take. https://twitter.com/SquigglyDigg/status/1246984685567143942">https://twitter.com/SquigglyD...
I talked about this a bit when I livetweeted Lilo & Stitch the other night (shameless plug) but the fact that Lilo has crazy bursts of anger is a huge part of WHY she& #39;s such a great character. https://twitter.com/efvdpodcast/status/1248464572576497664">https://twitter.com/efvdpodca...
They don& #39;t water her down. A lesser movie would& #39;ve just painted Lilo as a precocious, cutesy kid with no real flaws except maybe clumsiness.
Lilo, meanwhile, straight-up bites a bitch. She& #39;s not just nice and precocious and superficially weird. She& #39;s fuckin& #39; TROUBLED.

And as a troubled kid with anger issues myself, I could relate like crazy.
So she& #39;s a "bad role model." So fuckin& #39; what? Maybe it& #39;s not always on the media we consume to be 100% non-problematic, because that& #39;d be boring. Maybe sometimes we just gotta let stories be stories.
