Thread: HOW TO GET YOUR VILLAGERS TO MOVE OUT (condensed).
This has worked reliably for me 2-3 times but I would love it if people could help test this more! If it works for you please reply below confirming. This is compiled from tips I& #39;ve got on reddit and my own testing.
A few starting points:
- Move-out pings (villagers asking you if they should leave) are random, so it& #39;s not possible to push a specific villager to move out, you need to keep cycling the pings until the correct one asks. This can take awhile.
- Ignoring, hitting with net, etc, has no effect. Move-outs are seemingly on a timer.
- Villagers will not move out if they& #39;re at home, if it& #39;s someone& #39;s birthday, it& #39;s an event day, or it& #39;s been less than two weeks since someone moved out (IMPORTANT)
What I do, short version:
- (usually) TT (time travel) 15 days ahead
- Check every villager, or as many as possible, for the cloud over their head that shows they& #39;re thinking of moving. Ignore everyone while checking.
- If there& #39;s no one, TT one day ahead and repeat the process
- I have ALWAYS found someone wanting to move out within 1-4 in-game days. (I skip if it& #39;s a birthday or event day).
- If it& #39;s the one I want, I let them. If it isn& #39;t, I tell them to stay, save/close the game, TT 15 days ahead and look for the next villager to move out.
An explanation of why: Move-outs are completely random and are scheduled on some kind of timer, seemingly every two weeks. With the above you& #39;re trying to find the "pings" of that timer, so that you can time travel reliably to points where someone will be thinking of moving out.
If you want one specific villager out, this can take awhile as you cycle through since you only have a 10% chance of getting them. People have said that once they find the "ping" and tell the pinged villager to stay, another one should be looking to move exactly 15 days after.
I haven& #39;t tested whether it& #39;s exactly 15 days in that scenario because I& #39;ve been lucky and always managed to get someone I want to leave on first ping!
I always start by TTing 15 days ahead just to be safe, because I usually want to do it right after someone has moved in and I want to free up a slot. It& #39;s worked well for me so far! Anyway, hope this helps and please feel free to test it/ask me any questions.
*sorry forgot to add - 10% chance of a specific villager moving out if you have 10 villagers. It& #39;s of course easier if you have fewer. This method SHOULD work if you have less than 10 villagers, but I haven& #39;t tested.
Seems like according to the replies to this thread, it definitely works!!!
