1D first two albums UAN & TMH were what you would call "typical boyband pop albums." The boys had no hand in writing UAN & wrote two songs on TMH. They were good for what they were but if they continued producing albums like that their fame would have fizzled out a bit after TMH.
1D fans were getting older & (myself included) had no desire to listen to more UAN like albums. Chances are 1D fame wouldn& #39;t have gotten to the extent it did during MM & would have just become another former boyband ppl eventually forgot about if they hadn& #39;t changed their sound.
If 1D fame fizzled out a bit after their second album none of them would have been able to have a decent solo career. If any had tried at that time I don& #39;t think their solo career would have lasted that long. A prime example of this is the wanted who didn& #39;t last as long as 1D.
The wanted continously produced "boyband pop music" that got boring after a while so their fame fizzled out pretty quickly (that 1D fight didn& #39;t help.) One member tried a solo career after but the best he did was duet with ariana other then that you never here about any of them.
Going back to 1D it came time for them to produce their third album & Louis was the one who made it clear to their label they had no desire to make another typical "boyband pop album" filled with songs they didn& #39;t write. Louis wanted them to be able to write their own music.
He fought for 1D, & stepped up to help write 13 of the 18 (including deluxe) songs for their third album MM. With Liam help Louis wrote what went on to become their fastest & highest selling album to date in 2013. That is when they truly became the biggest boyband in the world.
The success of MM led them to make Four & MITAM which the other boys helped with more. The question is would 1D have been able to make 5 sucessful albums & solidify their place as the biggest boyband of the 2010s if Louis hadn& #39;t changed 1D sound & wrote most of their third album?
Had their fame fizzled out early on due to making more boyband pop songs would any of us have stayed fans this long? Would any of the boys have had a chance at a solo career that young? Would solo stans even exist? Yes they were big before MM but they REALLY became big after MM.
Louis helped write at least 30 songs for 1D once they were allowed & is one of the main reasons 1D went from "and I was like na na na & she was like yeah yeah yeah" to "there& #39;s a lighting in your eyes I can& #39;t deny & then there& #39;s me inside a sinkin boat running out of time."
I& #39;m not asking ppl to like Lou I& #39;m just asking ppl to respect him & understand what L did for 1D helping them get to that level of fame. I am tired of seeing solo stans who say H or Z carried 1D when you probably wouldn& #39;t even be here today had it not been for what Lou did then.
If Louis hadn& #39;t helped 1D get as famous as they did changing their sound they would have been to young when attempting a solo career with not enough credibility meaning their solo careers probably wouldn& #39;t have lasted that long/very successful enough for a 2nd solo album.
Nor long/successful enough for them to gain many "hiatus/solo fans" to come on here arguing that H or Z are the sole reason 1D were that big. GIVE LOUIS THE CREDIT HE DESERVES! They all contributed in some way to the bands level of success so stop saying only H or Z did anything.
