There are absolutely problems with our welfare systems because of consistent underinvestment in IT capacity (see also IRS at the federal level), but lets be real: a lot of this dysfunction was a deliberate choice by Republican leaders. They broke it.

Here is my idea for staffing any task force focused on state welfare systems:
*Find people who want to make these systems function
*and have the expertise to do so
Tons of other ideas about *how* to fix the problem, but at least start by with real problem-solvers.
