1) The last time a team with a dominant big man won a title was 2014, the San Antonio Spurs. To say the game has changed since then would be a drastic understatement.

2) Unless you have wild projections for Wiseman, there’s no 2014 dominant center presence in this draft class.

2, cont.) The Okongwu upside is there, but he’s still incredibly raw in-terms of decision-making ability, shot creation or even just pure shot-making ability.

Is slow-footed Obi Toppin really the answer when Charlotte fans have wept for consistent rim-protection for years?

3) The NBA shifted far-and-away from consistently putting the ball in the center’s hands. The game is predicated on elite decision-makers with ability to create space for themselves and others (Harden,Luka, Lebron,etc)

so why waste your highest pick in 7 years on a CENTER

4) Sure, this class lacks in that space-creator role.

But there are guys like Killian Hayes, LaMelo Ball, Tyrese Halliburton that fit that elite-decision maker role that Charlotte desperately needs more of.

Okay, last one:

5)NBA Twitter CLOWNS Phoenix & Sacramento for taking Ayton/Bagley (ahem, big men) at the top of a draft class that had Luka,Trae Young,Jaren Jackson,SGA.

Idk abt y’all but I’m pretty tired of the “Charlotte sucks at drafting” narrative.

Do not draft a center.
