So I read an article about "bare minimum exercises to do at home during lockdown" and it was like "you should be aiming for 2.5hrs of medium intensity and 1.5hrs high intensity exercise. Twice that is better but this in the bare minimum" and uh. LOL, what?
I don& #39;t know why I read an exercise article from a non - trusted source; I make life choices. I was expecting like a core strengthening routine or something.

Anyway the exercise you should be doing right now is whatever you feel like doing and can manage, including none at all.
My current exercise routine is as follows:
- I take walks around my city block because it helps me clear my head. Frequency: when I feel like it and the sidewalks don& #39;t look crowded.

- I do five half-depth push-ups/day because I want to be able to do a whole pushup eventually.
Also back stretches because I had a bulged disc in my lower spine and needed weekly traction for a while and I would like it to not come back. And some back strengthening because I& #39;ve been trying to fix my posture and it& #39;s totally working https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đź’Ş" title="Flexed biceps" aria-label="Emoji: Flexed biceps">
But the stretches/back stuff is basically whenever I get a sec. Waiting for tea to boil, five minutes to my next meeting, etc. Getting up from my computer for a minute at a time is a way I manage my attention because ADHD.
ANYWAY all that to say, do what makes you feel good, and/or helps you reduce pain and stress. And if anybody comes at you with "you don& #39;t lack time you lack discipline" or whatever the fuck please demonstrate the finger stretching exercise "flip them the bird." https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đź–•" title="Reversed hand with middle finger extended" aria-label="Emoji: Reversed hand with middle finger extended">
(Disclaimer: I am not a fitness expert. But I am an expert at feeling like I& #39;m not doing enough and like I& #39;m failing to make my body conform to other people& #39;s bullshit standards and so I know that none of us need another thing we& #39;re doing wrong right now).
Yes, folks, it is per week (sorry for not clarifying up front but please check the thread and replies). It& #39;s still not the "bare minimum" people should be doing; it is the government recommended health guidelines for the county in which the article was written.
The "bare minimum" any of us should be doing right now is our best to secure for ourselves and anyone we take care of:

- Basic needs (food/water/shelter/meds/hygiene)
- As much peace of mind and psychological safety as we can manage.

That& #39;s basically it.
If writing a novel, getting swole, launching a business, or any other new project helps you deal with the world right now, go for it!

But you do not need to "win" your lockdown, and articles using the pandemic as a hook to promote productivity as a form of purity aren& #39;t helpful.
