W.C. Fields said- ‘If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit’. This was never more true than yesterday’s @JeffcoSchoolsCo Remote Learning & Work Plan briefing to BoE. 60 pgs & 4 hrs of BS & spin by @COJasonGlass & his band of incompetent subordinates.
Strong leadership would have presented bold objectives, hard facts and identified weak areas with plans to rectify those areas needing improvement. Instead, all #Jeffcolearns got was cryptic presentations & evasive answers to go w/ the self-congratulatory & BoE pats on the back.
5/ Merely self-congratulations in handing out just 12,000 meals every 2 days (4 meals/person) from 12 sites. w/approx 25,000 FRL kids, a good number would be 100,000. Contrast w/ @DPSNewsNow which distributes from 60 sites.
All-in-all an extraordinarily weak and pathetic presentation. ‘If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit’ is obviously @COJasonGlass’s mantra. Unfortunately, 1,000’s of kids are paying the price for his and the District’s incompetence. #jeffcolearns
1/ No strong goal for Remote Learning such as “Over the remaining weeks of the school year, we will deliver the equivalent of 4 weeks of in-person education”.
2/ No definitive definition of “engagement” or “attendance” to provide student participation numbers. In effect, no true accountability.
3/ No true and accurate understanding of the total numbers of students without devices or internet access. Merely anecdotal numbers.
6/ Complete & utter evasion of answering questions of why @TeamJeffco employees got paid time & a half for merely doing their jobs. includes work from home & accounts payable/receiving clerks. Cost of $1M which will be needed next year when there will be a severe budget deficit.
4/ An inordinate amount of time spent on the communications plan. I’m glad @bvrcreek could use my tweets and impressions to impress the BoE!
