And a lot of my new, targeted followers would not only follow me back but would retweet my latest tweets. This didn& #39;t take long, imacros let me do it every morning while I drank my coffee, and manageflitter let me selectively unfollow the long term disinterested. This helped 2/x
Me get my client& #39;s name and target pages retweeted by sector-specific and geographically relevant influencers. Google says social shares don& #39;t help Page rank - I& #39;m unsure of this, but it certainly boosted traffic and helped conversions. 3/x
I jacked in that job over five years ago because the immorality of working for scammers was causing mental scars. However by this point I had 100k followers and was maintaining them all with cute animal pics 4/x.
Also my new employer loved my follower count and encouraged me to keep it up, not for specific marketing but so he could threaten GoDaddy or whatever like & #39;ive got an account here with 100k followers! Treat me nice or I& #39;ll tweet about you. To maintain my high count, just put 5/x
Something like #folloback in your bio and loads of people who are also trying to game Twitter will follow you passively. However I also had like 100k follows at this point too which made my feed garbage, full of uninteresting stuff from countless randos 6/x
Around the time I decided to leave my job and go it alone, I thought my Twitter would look cooler and be more fun to use if I had loads of followers and only followed people I was interested in. This account then became firmly my property. 7/x
So I unfollowed everyone and just followed people I like. Mybfollower count dropped pretty fast but I did enjoy the fake respect you get. It& #39;s like when I had 25000 posts on a BBS site - A new user looks at you and either acts with reverence or wants to make s name for themselves
Some of the previous iterations of this account were & #39;cute animal pics& #39; and & #39;business retweets& #39; where you @ me in a tweet and I share it with all my followers. easy way to drive up engagement.
Conclusion - try follower curn, automated tools exist online, Twitter hardly notices
