Someone called Jerry Taylor, of the Niskanen Center posted a bizarre Twitter rant about my article in the WSJ. (1/n) https://www.wsj.com/articles/coronavirus-lessons-from-the-asteroid-that-didnt-hit-earth-11585780465?mod=opinion_lead_pos5">https://www.wsj.com/articles/... https://twitter.com/jerry_jtaylor/status/1245696224382070784">https://twitter.com/jerry_jta...
The article had two themes - transparency of data and calculations and the need for a formal risk scale to help policymakers communicate risk to the public and fend off media pressure.
Taylor didn’t quote our article, nor linked to it. This allowed him to lie to his readers about what was in it. For example, he says that we complained about “allegedly dodgy and...modeling”. We do not criticise anyone’s modelling, let alone say that it is “dodgy”.
