In February, the federal government put the Australians from the Diamond Princess in a two week quarantine in the NT.
They knew then the dangers cruise ships posed.

On 15 March, @ScottMorrisonMP said the federal government would stop the cruise ships.
That did not happen.
4 days later the Ruby Princess arrived & disembarked 2700 passengers with no testing or quarantine.

Borders are a Commonwealth responsibility.
The Morrison government put one set of rules in place for the Diamond Princess passengers in Feb, and a different and more lax set of rules for the Ruby Princess in March.
It makes no sense. It’s a border security failure.

The federal government sets border rules & enforces them.
We don’t ask airlines if people have contraband, incl fruit or other food. The ABF enforces the rules.
And so they should have with cruise ships.

When the PM told us that he’s going to stop the cruise ships — shouldn’t we have been able to take him at his word?

Importantly, @PeterDutton_MP must urgently act to secure the borders off WA & NSW - as cruise ships are piling up - with a plan for quarantine, medical treatment, & transfer of foreign citizens out of Australia.
