Hiring processes that are opaque make it hard for talented people to join the Public Service- especially those coming from outside the NCR and who face systemic barriers.

If you’re a student, apply for Co-op and FSWEP jobs. This will help you get a security clearance, which is like gold. You can get a foot in the door and start networking.

If there’s nothing online and you’re still looking to get in, hiring is still happening, but opportunities are not widely advertised. There are Facebook groups and informal networks, and I will post job ads that I see in this thread.

It is always worth applying! A recent post:

I often struggle with figuring out how to have a positive impact on my workplace, knowing that a few small people at the bottom can’t easily move a bureaucratic machine.

However, I hope this thread and future additions to it will help at least a few deserving people break in.
