Today marks a huge failure by @tribpub. The company who claims to care about journalism put profit over people — some of its best. Josh and @ebfIII reported from the bed of a pickup truck in a mall parking garage after the shooting in our office. Now, they have to take buyouts. https://twitter.com/joshuamckerrow/status/1225457088467472390">https://twitter.com/joshuamck...
Josh, front and center as a @TIME& #39;s 2018 Person of the Year cover, asked the company for ANY amount to help him. ANYTHING. And they told him no, and that he& #39;s not "essential personnel." Pat, top right, can& #39;t even be here for his last day as he& #39;s in the hospital with pneumonia.
@tribpub execs are here when they get to go to fancy awards dinners with us or come to shooting anniversary memorials. They shake our hands and tell us we& #39;re important. They make money off of Tshirts "celebrating" our hard work after the shooting. So where are they now?
Remember that $100,000 we got from the Pulitzer Prize citation? Most of that was saved for "a rainy day," as advised by the company. Today, it& #39;s raining. Yet no one can help us.
