It seems that it just isn& #39;t maintained any more, or it hasn& #39;t got enough human resources allocated. Bugs are being introduced rather then fixed, and the bug-backlog is only getting longer.

On the bright side, that pushed me towards giving EEVEE a decent poke. I think EEVEE will definitely work for day-to-day product renders.
