On Poch: I admire so much about the man. He had the broadest of shoulders & would always try to take responsibility for anything bad, whilst passing on the praise to others for anything good. He tried to run a meritocracy, to be consistent & to treat the players fairly.
He hugely over achieved on the 6th biggest wage bill in the PL. He stuck to his principals even when the going got tough & he never lost the dressing room, which is quite astounding in the circumstances.
If there was one man I& #39;d give almost anything to work under and learn from, it& #39;s him. I supported him until the very end. But I almost feel a sense of relief now he& #39;s gone. It felt like he needed a break ever since the CL final.
He was sick of facing the same problems with the squad. But I think without some bad luck & injuries this season, the momentum could have changed & it could all have worked out. But that didn& #39;t happen. Poch would never quit, it& #39;s against everything he stands for.
But I can& #39;t help but feel that amidst the sadness, there might have been some relief for him. He& #39;ll go away, charge his batteries, come back better than ever. I& #39;d welcome him back to Spurs if the chance ever came.
Re Mourinho: logically, we know he& #39;ll burn brightly, start some fires & leave, but may we& #39;ll deliver a trophy along the way. Instead of watching a & #39;mentor& #39; figure lead the club, we get to watch a glorious anti-hero. Perhaps it& #39;ll be a healthier way to engage with football.
I can& #39;t deny that I& #39;m excited. I hope Poch goes abroad & I can root for him. It would kill me a little to see him at another English club. Now, let& #39;s sit back, buckle up and enjoy the ride. COYS
