The Rosell administration invented big losses and tried to ruin Laporta's name by taking him to court and blame him for the club's economical "crisis".Laporta won the court case few years later.
Amazing how Freixa still tries to ride on that horse... This is how ot went:
As soon as elected in 2010, Rosell started a campaign of opposing everything that was associated with the success of Laporta - from Pep that his life at Barça became much more complicated, through Cruyff giving up the title of honorary president and more.
And there was Laporta himself. When elected, Rosell got his hands on a gold mine - a dream team and a club at its peak - but it just wasn’t enough for him. He began to persecute his predecessor in office and tried to portray him in a negative light.
When Laporta's management submitted the financial reports before the end of their term in the summer of 2010, it presented a profit of 11 million euros in the last year of the president's post, but Rosell tried to present a different reality, one in which there are debts of 79m.
It took a long time, but in the end Laporta managed to clear his name. When it finally happened, he told the sad truth:
"Seven years later, they (Rossell's management) were proven wrong. We left them the biggest Barça in the history of the club and they wasted their time trying to destroy me. "
They did not manage to destroy Laporta, but Barça did got destroyed. Almost nothing has remained since except the name. Not from the club. And so, you can teach a business school course about how an empire can disappear in a decade, if managed so bad.
