1/ Let me talk about duality in the music scene and why it's important to have it in mind.
I've seen some comparisons lyric wise between Mansons lyrics and other musicians' who've denounced him in an effort to make them look "as bad" or hypocritical.

2/ First of all, no one denounced or stopped supporting MM because of his lyrics but because he abused women IRL, it wasn't fiction, it wasn't fantasy.
3/ However its important to notice that works of fiction are not proof of someone being a bad person, or an abuser (or a good person either), it's okay to have violent extreme shock value lyrics without it meaning you're an actual deranged person that commits those same actsâŠ
4/ âŠin real life.
Infant Annihilator and Cannibal Corpse are the first to come to mind, no one actually thinks they cut through kids heads with dental floss on their free time right? However they are all decent people.

5/ Same thing for sexual and kink lyrics, be it from a fictitious stand point or not, don't equal to being abusive, or to the person who wrote them being an abuser.
6/ The duality between the art created and the person behind it exists, it's okay to write about sex, bdsm, violence etc, it's a slippery slope to equate "depraved" lyrics to proof of someone being evil.
7/ Real life actions are a much better judge of character, and its those real life actions that should be condemned.
8/ I'm trying to make this as general as possible, but I saw a couple people compare Chr*s M*tionless to MM because of the lyrical content on an album which sole purpose was to shock and piss off people (nothing wrong with that), on songs that were either about total fictionâŠ
9/ âŠ(like movies) or kinks (which is also fucking fine). It's also not uncommon to have the rolls switched on m*w songs.
Playing out intrusive thoughts into lyrics is also fine, does not mean you've ever acted on them or that they even represent you or your moral compass.

10/ How many times have you wanted to beat someone up vs how many times have you actually done it vs how many times have you talked about having the impulse to hit someone? I sure as hell want to beat MM up.
TLDR: Lyrical content is not indicative of the kind of person you are, good or bad, and should not be used as proof for anything, actions alone should be condemned.
