Every week @Essex_CC publishes COVID-19 case data. From the seven days up until 14 January, it shows our district had 608.8 cases per 100,000 population.

Even though the cases are showing some indication of reducing, we are still experiencing extremely high numbers.

The virus is still very much in our communities. Local hospitals are overwhelmed. Lots of people as young as 30 are in critical care.

We must all keep playing our part to stop the spread. You know what you need to do.

Ventilate your home

Wash your hands regularly

Wear a face covering

Keep 2m distance
