FIVE THINGS I LEARNED ABOUT MYSELF THIS YEAR
I learned that I can make a lot of sacrifices over a long period of time in order to take care of other people. I am proud of the way I took care of my community, even when it wasn’t easy.

I learned that I am actually less introverted than I thought! I miss spending time in the company of other people.
I learned that relationships mean everything. Some of my most joyful and memorable moments of 2020 were moments of connection with other people.
I learned that relatively simple things can make me really happy. Going for a walk; having a heart-to-heart conversation with someone I love; enjoying a really good cup of tea;
reading a thought-provoking book that teaches me something new or that offers a mini-vacation from the world.
I learned that I still have a lot of thinking and learning to do, in order to be the kind of human I aspire to be. This was a year of tremendous learning and growth for me, in terms of anti-oppression work, and yet I still feel like I’m in the kindergarten class!
The good news is that I love to learn. I will continue to learn and grow.
