hello. im not back, but im gonna say this and then dip. timeline: i think is perfectly acceptable to criticize the final installment of the sequel trilogy considering it mistreated its BIPOC characters & reeked of ignorance. there are some things i really enjoyed ab tros. (1/?)
there are things i enjoyed about each film. but you simply cannot ignore the way tros wronged the cast & characters. it’s confirmed that a finnpoe romance was denied bc of the disney overlords, etc. they added an lgbtq kiss that has .5 secs of screen time for damage (2/?)
control. an asian woman was replaced with a slug. non-white actors were stereotyped while simultaneously being denied fulfilling character arcs. all of the nuance was given to rey and ben (who i obviously love), and that is extremely awful. all debate about (3/?)
ben’s redemption & death, rey skywalker, & rey palpatine aside, you have to acknowledge these facts. to say tros is a perfect film, or even just the best of the ST, can be an opinion based on interest, sure. but to call it that considering the prejudicial treatment of its (4/?)
actors & characters? that makes a film worthy of slander. that indicates that something SHOULD be examined & criticized. & ultimately, for me, that makes it unenjoyable. holding disney, the team of tros, & lucasfilm accountable for these actions IS important. (5/?)
anyhow, i love you all, i hope you’re doing well and taking care of yourselves. sending love and good vibes. peace
just realized there were typos in that dkaowkwksormrk. oh well. you get the point
