thinking on how every time i see "should games cost more than 60 dollars?" come around in the discourse and how sometimes "hey games used to cost more than that in the 90s" comes along too but "real wages have flattened for decades but cost of living has skyrocketed" never does
games costing 80 dollars (again) wouldn't be a problem if everyone's income had actually increased over time as it should have
this especially goes for game devs themselves. the games cost more to make, but they're not, on average, getting *paid* more to make them

lol if game devs were getting paid a living wage can you imagine how much more successful the game industry - already wildly successful - would be? money going right back into it, people buying each other's games and game merch and so on
same goes for comics, and so on
same goes for comics, and so on
(this would also help revitalize indie games in ways you might've never imagined, as people would have more time and money to make their own work, and actually price it accordingly, which is perhaps yet another reason why big publishers like blizzard don't pay for shit)
