Branches in SRC are under threat of redundancy, including Portsmouth and Southampton Solent. Staff in Liverpool, Imperial, SOAS, Roehampton and Reading are at serious risk of losing their livelihoods, and their academic and professional careers.
Chesterfield College have been served an S188 notice which could result in up to 55 FTE posts together with a general voluntary severance package.Bradford College has received a similar notice, and Petroc College was served an S188 last week.
These threats have been described as a ‘different kind of virus’, yet one that is equally devastating for workers in post 16 education
