What do you do about a smear campaign? You cut your losses & walk away. Narcissists are master manipulators, so everyone is believing them. Trying to defend yourself looks worse. The Narcissist paints you as crazy.
Panicking & trying to save face just backs up what the Narcissist is saying about you. Healthy people question smear campaigns. No one who blindly follows your abuser isn’t toxic. Cut your losses, heal, and come back & explain yourself to those who are important.
Do not try to get revenge. I know it’s hard, and we are angry, but don’t. You’ve met someone dangerous, who doesn’t have empathy and remorse, and who isn’t scared of you.
